It is that time of year again where we find ourselves surrounded by Christmas trees, seasonal sales and plenty of food and drink. But while it can all seem like a bit too much at times, you can also look forward to a tasty twist on your normal coffee. And you don’t necessarily have to head to your local coffee shop to get it either.
Flavoured coffees are definitely a popular addition to the market nowadays. And Christmas seems to be a good time of year to experience that different flavour. Starbucks, for example, sells a Christmas coffee blend that is different every year. You can buy it as complete beans or have it ground for you at the shop. Either way it makes a good present or perhaps even a treat for yourself!
You can also buy the syrups that help to give your coffee a different kick. One good choice for this colder time of year is the ginger syrup, which will give your drink a taste that reminds you of gingerbread. It will also liven it up a bit.
It is worth looking out for seasonal coffee blends at this time of year. Different manufacturers have different blends and while they are all related to the festive season in some way, no two will ever be the same. Starbucks has been dishing out the festive coffee for a quarter of a century and every year it produces something a little bit different.
January is a good month to go shopping for bargain festive coffees as well. While coffee can last quite well in a sealed packet it will be reduced once the Christmas sales start, and you can stock up for several months ahead if you find a flavour you particularly like.
If you still have time to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts you might want to get some as a gift for someone else you know who loves coffee as well. It makes a nice unusual and cheap stocking filler, particularly if you marry it up with some dark chocolate.
There is no doubt that there is a good market in seasonal coffee at the moment. And there is every reason to assume it will continue in the same vein as time goes by. In fact you will probably find you will look forward to this time of year more and more, as it opens up new seasonal and festive flavours for you to try.
