If you know someone who loves coffee, you will probably notice they drink the same old stuff every single day of the year. They might have something a bit stronger or a different brand perhaps at the weekends, but most of the time they stick to the same thing.
But it doesn’t mean they won’t be adventurous, and it might also give you a superb idea for a Christmas gift for them. We’re talking about flavoured coffees, and you would be amazed at how many of these are around. The good news is that shops and websites that traditionally sell coffee blends usually have gift sets of flavoured coffee around Christmas time anyway. So they will be easy to find and buy and if you buy online you won’t even have to venture out to the shops.
So what kinds of flavoured coffees can you look forward to?
Well there are some real favourites that you will see among several different outlets. For example hazelnut flavoured coffee is a big seller, and lots of people seem to enjoy it. Vanilla coffee is another popular one for lovers of vanilla. Caramel also pops up a lot, as will amaretto. This has an almond flavouring so make sure the gift recipient likes almonds. You have to be careful with nut allergies too, so ensure you know the recipient well enough to make sure you don’t get anything they couldn’t have.
You also need to know whether the recipient has a coffee grinder at home. If they do, make sure you buy the beans exactly as they are. Freshly ground coffee is the best drink of all, especially if the beans are ground just before you make the coffee. If they don’t have a grinder you will need to specify that you want the beans ground. Some websites give you a choice of either, so make your choice and get the one that will suit your recipient the most.
While you can buy individual packets of flavoured beans in this way, the best bet is to look for a boxed set of half a dozen or so different ones. The packets are normally smaller but they are usually better because the recipient will have lots of different coffees to try. What better way to kick off Boxing Day morning than by trying a couple of different coffees?
