Quick Mill is not amongst best-know names in coffee makers in the United Kingdom. But it’s certainly a name to be reckoned with and admired amongst the aficionados of coffee. Located in Milan, Italy, its aim is to offer quality products that are well designed, functional and simple to use. All of their products are designed to reach an optimal operating temperature in a short time to avoid water laying in the system and spoiling the taste of the next drink. So every drink is made from fresh water, very important when brewing an espresso or cappuccino.

Finding the section on coffee makers
On the left hand side of the Quick Mill home page is a ‘Products’ menu. Click on ‘coffee machines’ in the menu or on one of the individual types of machines.
Selection available
Quick Mill offers a good selection of traditional machines with both automatic and semi-automatic options along with pod and capsule coffee makers. There are manual operation items as well.
Information provided on the site
If you click on the ‘Coffee Machines’ link you are taken to the start page of all the coffee machines available. The items are laid out one after the other with an image on the left hand side of the machine band. The machine name and model number are given.
Click on the image to go to the item page. On this page you have a larger image with thumbnail alternative images on the right hand side of the page. If you click on a thumbnail it brings up a separate page with the larger image in it.
Under the image is a brief run down on the features on some products. It explains that the ‘Quick Mill’ system incorporates an exclusive stainless steel filter head with fixed tightening and sealing through an O-ring. The thermoblock system they use features double thermostatic control and safety thermo-fuse.
In most cases, though, you are given a list of ‘Technical Features’, including grinder type if a bean to cup model, water tank capacity, preheated brewing group and so on.
Their bean to cup machine offers a low motor-speed burr grinder and electronic quantity control dosing system.
They use a phosphate-treated frame and powder paint.
On some models, under the features list is a ‘Use and Maintenance’ rundown. This includes how to use the de-scaling programme and cleaning programme. There’s also, on the newer machines, a system whereby you can programme the machine to shut off after a period of inactivity. So your machine is protected if you leave it on by mistake when going away for a long period of time.
In some cappuccino models there is the provision for the intake of milk into the machine. It’s sucked from the milk carton when you need it.
Their digital models allow you prepare your espresso at the touch of a button. There’s an electronic display too.
On the right hand side of the page is a list of technical data including dimensions, weight, voltage and power as well as the colour options.
Pod machines allow you to prepare your coffee without the fuss of grinding beans or filling the basket with coffee grinds. If you just want a quick espresso with no bother and you’re not worried about the preparation ritual this might be for you.
For the coffee buff Quick Mill offer a range of grinders and accessories. Accessories include stainless steel containers for coffee grounds, tampers and water supply connection kits for some models if you want to connect your machine to the mains water system.

There is no provision for buying from the website. But you can visit the sales department at their e-mail address. However, the Chris’ coffee website offer a selection, although they’re USA based. The ‘Caffe Italia’ website offers Quick Mill products as does Ciao!

Quick Mill offers a quality product at quite good value. They offer a range that covers most types of coffee machine and most are constructed out of high grade stainless steel and that includes the frame. The products offer all the features you’d want in an espresso maker and more. Quick mill have been around for over half a century and have developed a great range of coffee machines that should suit the home barista with their looks and function.
