Click on ‘World of Coffee’ for a brief history of the drink and of the manufacturer. But most interesting is the piece on coffee pods, explaining the types, including ESE pods and Nespresso capsules. ESE stands for Easy Serving Espresso. The 7gram portions of coffee are forcefully compacted between two sheets of filter paper made primarily of plant fibres to be ecologically friendly. The pod system provides simplicity of preparation and consistency of flavour and aroma.
The Nespresso section outlines the 9 different types of coffee available in the Espresso format. The Dolce Gusto range features capsules containing 100% Arabica beans.
Click on ‘Products’ and you are first taken to the ‘Quickfinder’ page. On the middle panel under ‘Coffee makers’ are links to the different types of machine offered by Krups. Click on ‘Espresso’, for instance, and you bring up the espresso page. Scroll along the top panel to see the items available. Each has an image and a brief description. Click on the machine name to bring up its page.
Beside the clear image is a menu that includes ‘Features’, ‘Specifications’, ‘Compare’, ‘Instructions’ and ‘Buy’ links. The features are bullet listed to the right of this. Click on ‘Compare’ to view a comparison of each range’s technical details and features such as water tank capacity, pump pressure and so on. Click on ‘Instructions’ to download a PDF of the detailed instruction manual.
The ‘Combination’ items have features listed for both filter and espresso functions.
Where to Buy
Click on the ‘Buy’ link on the item page and you’re taken to a page listing main retail outlets including John Lewis, Lakeland, Debenhams and House of Fraser.
Buying from the website
On the same ‘Buy’ page you are advised that you can buy online from the authorised retail partners mentioned. If you can’t find the retailer you’re looking for, contact Krups online. Click on the retailers box to be taken to their online store.
Finally
This is a comprehensive, well set out website that offers plenty of information about its products as well as coffee generally. Even their filter makers are well catered for. The site is relatively easy to navigate and well worth a visit if you’re looking for quality, reliable product with good back up.
